How The Game Works
Zalatar runs on a 5×3 grid with 25 paylines. Eight regular symbols pay for 3, 4, or 5 of a kind – the Sun tops the paytable at 50x for five, while lower-tier cards (A, K, Q, J) pay 0.20x, 0.60x, and 1x. A telescope wild substitutes for all regular symbols. Winning combinations pay left to right from the leftmost reel. The betting range spans €0.25 to €50 per spin, with 26 stake tiers available for those building a strategy.
The slot has no special base-game mechanics beyond the wild and Risk Game (Gamble) feature – you can double or lose any win by picking a card to beat the dealer’s hand. Win 10 consecutive times and you cash out; lose once and the session ends. The real action lives in the bonus triggers.

Two Bonus Triggers – Lucky Time / Mystery Pick'Em
Zalatar offers two distinct ways to enter the Hold & Win bonus. The first is Lucky Time: during the base game, green, red, and blue tokens overlay regular symbols. Collect them into their respective pots, and on any collection, the associated feature activates at random – no animation tricks, purely RNG.
The second trigger is Mystery Pick’Em. Mystery Cards (scatter symbols) land on reels 1, 3, and 5 only. Land all three, and you choose from 3 hidden cards to reveal which Hold & Win mode you’ll play: Collect, Multi, or Jackpot. This gives players agency over the bonus type – a sharp tool when the wait for a trigger feels long.
Hold / Win Bonus – Three Modes
Collect Bonus (Red Orbs): The grid transforms into a 3×3 board. Coins land on reels 1 and 3, Collector symbols on reel 2. You get 3 respins; any new symbol resets the counter. Collectors are sticky and harvest all cash and jackpot coins, removing them from play. The Collect mode pays out fixed jackpots and coin values:
| Jackpot / Prize | Payout |
|---|---|
| Ruby Jackpot | 200x the bet |
| Amethyst Jackpot | 100x the bet |
| Sapphire Jackpot | 50x the bet |
| Emerald Jackpot | 25x the bet |
| Regular Prizes | 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x the bet |
Multi Bonus (Green Orbs): Awards 12 free spins on a 3×3 grid. Bonus Symbols carry cash values (1x to 200x the bet), Multiplier Symbols apply x1, x2, x3, x5, x10, or x100 to Bonus values, and Mystic Respin symbols add +1 or +2 extra spins. Bonus Symbols only pay if Multipliers or Mystic Respins are in view – a mechanic that forces engagement with all three symbol types.
Jackpot Bonus (Blue Orbs): Four fixed jackpot meters (ULTRA, MAX, MID, MIN) sit on a 3×3 grid. Coins land and fill their respective meters. Once at least one meter fills, the reels respin once more. Extra coins to filled meters boost the jackpot payout: x2 multiplier for the first extra coin, +1 for every subsequent one.
| Jackpot | Base Payout |
|---|---|
| ULTRA | 500x the bet |
| MAX | 150x the bet |
| MID | 50x the bet |
| MIN | 20x the bet |
Bonus Pop – Optional Buy Feature
Bonus Pop is an optional feature (disabled at some casinos) that lets you buy direct access to the Mystery Pick’Em trigger and guarantees a Hold & Win bonus. The cost is 81x the bet. You pick a card to determine which bonus mode plays – Collect, Multi, or Jackpot. It’s a shortcut for players who want to skip the base game grind, but it comes at a premium and isn’t essential to the slot’s appeal.
RTP / Volatility / Max Win
Zalatar carries a 96.03% RTP – slightly above the industry average and typical for Endorphina. The game is high-volatility, meaning big wins are possible but spaced out. Hit Frequency sits at 26.32%, so roughly one in four spins will land a win of some kind. The max win is 6600x the bet, or up to €330,000 at the top stake. That’s a solid ceiling for a high-volatility game.
Theme / Presentation
Zalatar wraps itself in a fortune-teller theme – a palm reader hovers above the reels, ready to reveal your fate through magical orbs. The 5×3 grid sits against an Arabian-styled night street backdrop. Endorphina emphasizes premium audio and visual performance here, and it shows: smooth animations, detailed artwork, and a traditionally Arabian audio design that fits the theme without feeling overdone. The slot is worth a spin for the presentation alone, though the mechanics are what keep players engaged.
Real Play Session – What To Expect
A 200-spin test session saw a 12.80% overall loss – not uncommon for high-volatility slots. The RNG triggered the Hold & Win bonus three times: twice as Multi (paying 27x and 13x the bet), and once as Collect (paying 57x the stake). The bonus hit rate felt reasonable for the volatility profile. Base game wins landed regularly enough to maintain interest, though the bonus is where the slot grows teeth.
